From the minute I met Stacey I felt grounded and optimistic. She’s thoughtful and a wonderful listener offering smart and pragmatic solutions. Stacey helped me through a very challenging time in my career and knowing she was in my corner made me feel empowered and strong. After working with Stacey I feel invigorated and ready to take on my next challenge.
I consider Stacey a holistic career coach. She brings creativity, empathy, practical solutions and a human understanding to the table. It was like therapy, only way more productive! What I like best about Stacey is that I had someone to bounce ideas off who is in my corner. She was always there with a thoughtful response, keeping me focused and on track.
If you’re willing to do the work to find your passion or pivot, Stacey is the one to go on the journey with.
I was adrift in a sea of self-doubt and career burnout. It was time to refocus and reclaim my professional mojo, but I wasn’t sure where to start. I knew from the first conversation with Stacey that she was the right fit to help me figure out ME. It was more than her impressive credentials – she possesses a great knack for asking the right questions and actually listening. Her insightful advice, recommendations, and coaching finesse really helped me to gain more clarity, set attainable goals, and feel more empowered. I made an investment in myself and Stacey was well worth it!
I had the pleasure of working with Stacey during a time when I was questioning what I wanted to do next with my career and if I wanted to remain in my industry. Our weekly appointments quickly became the support that I needed in defining my true values and aligning these with the next step in my career. Her support and guidance helped me revisit how I was conducting my job hunt, they types of companies I was looking at, and the manner in which I was evaluating opportunities. Stacey helped me find my true self and remain true to my value system. Additionally, we fine-tuned my personal brand, which built my confidence to network differently, opening up new professional opportunities. I would be happy to work with Stacey again.
I enlisted Stacey as a professional business coach at a pivotal point in my career. After experiencing several frustrating challenges at my job, Stacey helped me to focus on what I wanted, where and how to look for those possibilities and how to present myself to get the career I desired. The questions and exercises that Stacey and I worked through were challenging, thought-provoking and insightful and helped me to refine what I needed from my career to gain more fulfillment. I am now more confident in my professional choices and direction. Thank you, Stacey.
I felt like I was at a standstill in my career, and despite years of working, I couldn’t come up with “my story” to tell to either internally or to a future employer. I hired Stacey to work with me on developing a narrative that was unique to me, which would separate me from others at my level. The results were immediate. After just a few sessions, we defined the core of who I am as a person and how my values play a role in my daily work life which are ultimately my biggest asset that I can bring to any organization. I recommend Stacey with full confidence – in fact, I just signed up for another round of sessions!
Stacey is the kind of coach that you want: she asks you the tough questions, she listens to your answers, and then she calls you on your crap when your answers lean more towards what you should say…instead of how you truly feel. Thanks to Stacey I walked away from our coaching engagement with an exit strategy from a work environment that was challenging in the wrong ways (culture problems and organizational dysfunction). I also walked away with a clearer understanding of what I wanted for the next step in my career. Thank you, Stacey!
Working with Stacey has been a transformative experience. Her observations – and the insights she’s helped me come to myself – have powered up the next stage of my career. In the short-term, she helped me achieve and navigate a job promotion. We’ve shifted our attention to some longer-term career and life goals, and Stacey is helping me to tackle these goals enthusiastically, and realistically. I’m grateful for her guidance!
Stacey showed me that my fears about my communication skills were misplaced and my weaknesses could be strengthened. Our work on my leadership presence helped me master a large audience of C-level executives. Going into my big meeting, I was more confident, energized and able to think on my feet than ever before. At the conclusion of my presentation, I received two rounds of applause and my CEO gave me a high-five as I left the stage. Even more amazing: a prospective customer gave me his card before I had a chance to sit down. For the rest of the day, people complimented me and went out of their way to talk to me. The biggest win? An audience member said: “I’ve never seen a presentation where the speaker knew so much or was so well prepared.” Coaching with Stacey has clearly paid off for me.
My time working with Stacey has given me enormous confidence. I came to her as an editor with broad and deep experience, but with no sense of my worth in the marketplace. She immediately did two things: listened carefully to draw out my deepest and clearest values, and helped me see how I can translate those values outside journalism, and even outside media, too many other realms. She has given me the tools I need to move into my next career phase, whenever that happens, with confidence and optimism about what lies ahead.
Working with Stacey on my career strategy elevated my confidence and helped me develop powerful tools to tell my story to prospective employers. We revamped my resume and LinkedIn profile, so I would attract conversations to support my career objectives. We also worked on how to position my experience and skills to appeal to a broader set of industries and companies. Stacey’s style is collaborative and creative. She is always available and steers the conversation towards your needs which I found extremely helpful. I would recommend Stacey to anyone looking to accelerate their job search and gain new traction.
It had been more than a decade since my last job search, and I was unsure whether to search for a job in my current field, pivot back to a previous field, or explore something completely different. Through talking to Stacey and completing the homework, I recognized which values are most important to me, and what my “must-haves” are when looking for my next position. She was a vital sounding board for my thoughts and ideas; someone I could talk to honestly and receive feedback that I knew was in my best interest.
Stacey gave me valuable insights for marketing myself. She listed out specific steps for me to take in order to improve my online presence, and explained nuances and capabilities of LinkedIn of which I had been totally unaware. We collaborated in organizing my résumé to be logical, flexible, and strong. And she reviewed and edited my written examples of skills so that I can confidently describe my strengths.
Thanks to Stacey, I now have a clearer vision of where I want to be and what steps I need to take to get there.
Stacey and I were colleagues at American Express and Time Inc. for many years. [As a coach,] she helped me fine tune my professional goals and identify creative ways to market my unique style and skill set. Stacey is an excellent coach. She offers a fresh perspective and is a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend her as a coach.
Stacey is a great listener and asks all the right questions, but most importantly she has fantastic insights that propel me forward into action. She is an experienced professional who has taken her marketing skill set and applied it to coaching. This combination makes her a perfect coach in today’s ever-evolving workplace.
The working world has shifted for senior executives, and Stacey is out in front — coaching me to evolve my style and demonstrating a new way to work in all she does. She has made each session count, tailored to my goals, and makes great use our time together. I’ve worked with other coaches before, and hands down Stacey has been most effective, and efficient, by a wide margin.
Having never worked with a career coach before, I’ll admit I had reservations about the impact it could have on my approach. But from our first conversation, I knew I made a great choice when selecting Stacey as my coach. Not only did Stacey’s background, experience, and professional achievements appeal to me, it was clear early on that she was committed to helping me. Together, we were able to hit on all the areas I needed guidance. From packaging and positioning to skills and values, resume advice, and online presence (LinkedIn), we certainly covered the gamut. In every sense, Stacey is a seasoned veteran and is great at what she does. By the conclusion of our contract, I was – and still am – a great deal more confident in the direction of my career. Stacey played a huge role in all that goes into this confidence.
When I first came to Stacey, I was feeling very lost about what types of positions I should be applying to and what the next step in my career should be. Working with Stacey as a coach, I was able to become much more reflective and selective in the types of roles I was applying for and gained new confidence and direction in my job search. I highly recommend working with Stacey!
Stacey’s experience and approach were exactly what I needed to help me see what I wanted for my next career move. Our weekly meetings helped me to acknowledge my strengths, find a new focus, commit to a relocation and land my dream job.

“Stacey is wonderful! Our firm invited her to lead us into an Energy Leadership workshop, which proved to be the perfect launchpad for our US offsite and helped facilitate further discussions among the team. Stacey not only brought passion, energy, and subject matter expertise to our event, but she also put a lot of thought into making it highly relevant to us and our business. Stacey is a wonderful listener and guide – I would have no hesitation in recommending her!”
“Stacey’s expertise as a coach and career educator are immediately evident when you meet her. An added plus was her career as a marketer – which was important to me personally, and for creating a program for the American Marketing Association NJ’s Marketing Revolution June event. Stacey designed a powerful session full of wisdom and perspective for conjuring resilience in a (post) pandemic world. With this material and her verve – we asked her to be the conference closer – we wanted to give members and guests something special to carry with them in times of uncertainty. And we did; we had rave reviews on Stacey and the messages she delivered. Stacey is creative, in touch with cultural and business realities, and wholly professional, a complete pleasure to work with. I look forward to continuing collaborations this year.”
“Stacey facilitated a workshop at our 2017 national sales meeting. She developed a program to help the MediaMax Sales/Marketing team better understand the relationship between their personal motivations, their careers, and our company objectives. Stacey was engaging, charismatic, insightful, and provided a great benefit to all MediaMax employees. We are currently working on having Stacey meet with the team again for a follow-up session. I consider myself incredibly lucky that my path not only crossed Stacey Staaterman’s in this lifetime, but our paths merged when I had the amazing professional experience of working for Stacey at American Express.”
“‘An effective change agent’ are the words that come to mind when I think about Stacey. I found a perfect match in Stacey as she brings the emotional intelligence, honesty, humanity, and empathy that I looked for in a coach. I had the pleasure of working with Stacey over a difficult period, and she helped me renovate my career. Through asking probing questions, she brought her experience, fresh thoughts, and ideas that mobilized me to act in new ways. “The future does not fit the containers of the past” became our mantra. She is a great sounding board, with high conversational intelligence. She was there to help me with through important career situations with thoughtful responses. I highly recommend Stacey if you need a strategist to examine your career, and leadership, challenge your thinking, and help you move forward in your career.”
“Before coaching with Stacey, I was uncertain about what the future might look like career-wise. Through my work with Stacey, I was able to discover more about what I truly love, where my strengths lie, and also where I could further develop. My work with her helped me gain clarity in articulating my story and developing a vision.

“When I started working with Stacey, I had recently been let go from my executive level position. It was a difficult experience, but one that I felt strongly that I needed to learn from. There were things that I realized I needed to work on: leadership gaps, the need to control, and a fear of failure. I chose to work with Stacey primarily because of her executive background and mindful approach to coaching and leadership. I also knew that I would benefit from her marketing expertise as I embarked on a job search. Coaching with Stacey helped me to become acutely aware of the gaps in my leadership skills, enabled me to see how I was holding myself back, and develop a plan to begin to correct these things. I was able to work with her to establish a set of professional and personal goals that were aligned with my core values and beliefs. Stacey challenged my thinking and encouraged my success. As I moved into my next role, I carried with me the work we did and what I learned. I would recommend coaching with Stacey for anyone that is looking for a coach that has operated at an executive level and who can be authentic while challenging and guiding her clients to achieve their goals.”
